Phthalates 6P refers to (DBP, BBP, DEHP, DNOP, DINP, DIDP) testing. Phthalates, commonly known as 6P, are a class of widely used plasticizers that modify or soften plastics. They are commonly found in plastics and paints, with a focus on PVC and paints. Among them, 15 phthalate substances are considered harmful and are restricted.
Restrictions on phthalates under Directive 2005/84/EC:
Toys and childcare articles containing DEHP, DBP, or BBP in concentrations exceeding 0.1% shall not be placed on the EU market.
The 16 harmful phthalate substances:
1. (DINP) Diisononyl phthalate, 2. (DEHP) Di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate, 3. (DBP) Dibutyl phthalate, 4. (DIDP) Diisodecyl phthalate, 5. (DIBP) Diisobutyl phthalate, 6. (BBP) Benzyl butyl phthalate, 7.
